As y'all probably know, I've been entrusting my skin with IDS for the past few months. During my last consultation, I was recommended I go for the Pico Laser Treatment which would help brighten and even out my skin tone.

Not the clearest skin I've ever had, it was also getting really dull and dry, and I had multiple stubborn acne(repurcussions of steroid-acne). I've tried all methods I could ever know and nothing helped. So when IDS invited me down to try out their treatment, I did not hesitate to say yes.

I decided to — finally! — take permanent action with regard to my sun spots and discolouration.

It’s been a while since I last went for a facial appointment. Fortunately, back on the second week of April, I received a pampering facial session at IDS Aesthetics.

There, there.... Finally, we've come to the end of my 4 months journey with IDS.

It has been almost 2 months since I started on the skincare products produced by IDS Skincare. I was back to IDS again for my skin review and facial treatment.

I rarely put on makeup. I find that putting on makeup is tiring and expensive. Therefore, I focus a lot on my skincare. Through my years of reviewing skincare, I learned one thing. So I entered the Big 4. Did things immediately go downhill as people have warned me?

My 3-month skincare journey with IDS was nothing short of amazing. I started off the journey with their own house brand of skincare products. It took a few weeks for my skin to adjust to their products and once my skin got used to their products, my skin texture started to improve greatly. I felt that the Pore Formula has help to reduce the blemishes on my skin and the Intensive Moisturiser helps to plump up my skin with moisture.

I recently watched a Tiktok that said that our skin begins really ageing at 25, and that’s when we should already have started pumping the Vitamin C, collagen and hyaluronic acid. Insert blinking meme. Excuse me?? You’re telling me I’m a year late?? Suffice to say, I had a lot of catching up to do. That’s why IDS came into my life at the perfect time.

After reviewing a series of customized skin care products from IDS Skincare as part of my IDS Journey, I was back again at IDS! For this time round, I would be reviewing a facial treatment which everyone of all skin types could benefit from.

As someone who has been lazy in maintaining my complexion, the 6 to 7-step process requires some discipline, morning and night. A good base product has to have 4 qualities - colour, consistency, finish and lasting effects. I will talk about each shortly.

Being plagued by skin problems such as acnes and keloids was a torture since puberty. Managing such troublesome and oily skin type was not my forte at all too.

This leaves us with just one last thing to cross off our agenda: the best skincare releases in the month. There are two kinds of purging that one should dedicate some time and effort to.

Does your skin feel rough to the touch, and looks rather lacklustre and "tired"? According to Dr Chuah Sai Yee, a consultant at the National Skin Centre, sun exposure, pollution and ageing are the main causes of uneven skin tone.

“When skin is repeatedly exposed to UV light, sun damage occurs. As we get older, skin weakens and the regularity of melanin production is affected, leading to brown spots and uneven skin tone,” said the dermatologist.

Another trigger could be hormonal imbalance. “Melasma, a pigment disorder that results in blotchy, brownish facial pigmentation, is commonly experienced by women who are pregnant – which is why it’s also known as the ‘mask of pregnancy’ – or those on contraceptives.”

But it’s not all bad news if your complexion seems lifeless. It's possible to even out skin tone to decrease dullness and skin discolouration. Just follow these steps, along with some suggestions on what products to use.
