What this translates to, on the treatment table, is virtually zero discomfort. The requisite application of numbing cream prior to the treatment certainly helped. The sensation, if any, felt akin to a very weak tingling. No vicious slaps, no foreboding rubber bands. The enhanced precision blasts must have helped.

This causes a focal heat injury to the skin and, thus, triggers a healing process.&rdquo; This results in a gradual tightening and lifting of the complexion, with no surgery or downtime required. &ldquo;It triggers a natural response by jumpstarting the body&rsquo;s&nbsp;regenerative process, which leads to an increase in collagen production. I agreed to get a skin-rejuvenation shot for the first time in my life for this story, but I wasn&rsquo;t fazed. The clinic was <a href="https://www.idsclinic.com/">IDS</a> and its founder, Dr SK Tan, has a stellar reputation with some hailing him the &ldquo;grandfather of Singapore aesthetics&rdquo;.
&nbsp;
Now here&rsquo;s an aesthetics clinic that understands a first-timer&rsquo;s jitters. Dr Lina Yow told me what to expect during and after the procedure and assured me that she would go slow and be gentle with the injections. Should I become anxious at any point, distraction techniques such as the use of cold air would be applied.
&nbsp;
She prescribed Plinest, a new potent skin booster in Singapore, designed to stimulate natural cell regeneration and revitalise the skin internally by fostering its healing abilities. This should result in a glowing complexion, a more youthful texture, and enhanced firmness and elasticity. It also promises to minimise the appearance of pores and lighten pigmentation.

To revitalise my tired-looking eyes, Dr Yow used Plinest Fast, which has a thinner formulation allowing for a smoother flow into the delicate eye area. Suitable for those with eczema and sensitive skin, Plinest stands out from other non-surgical skin rejuvenators for its efficacy in treating the undereye area, acne scars and visible pores, which is one of the most difficult problems to solve.
&nbsp;
The procedure began 30 minutes after numbing cream was applied on my face. While Dr Yow worked and explained each step, an assistant tapped my shoulder to distract me from the injections. But she didn&rsquo;t have to do that for long. Apart from a slight tingle, I was relaxed and could chat with Dr Yow. The entire session lasted about 15 minutes.
&nbsp;
Other than facial tenderness and sensitivity with a little swelling, as well as puffy eyes that subsided within two days, there was little downtime as Dr Yow used a cannula to deliver the injections. Unlike a sharp needle, the cannula&rsquo;s blunt tip minimises the risk of accidentally puncturing a blood vessel that would cause bruising. I could resume the rest of my day &ndash; at home &ndash; without much discomfort. Despite being a beauty editor, the irony is that I don&rsquo;t find myself being&nbsp;that&nbsp;into beauty. I&rsquo;m perfectly capable of drawing a hard line in the sand&mdash;subjecting myself to lasers is&nbsp;a-ok&nbsp;but I&rsquo;d never do anything crazy like having my face injected&mdash;but fast forward a few years later, I found myself lying down on a bed and having sweet, sweet, Plinest being dispensed into my face by <a href="https://www.idsclinic.com/our-team/">Doctor Vivian Yong</a> of IDS.
&nbsp;
But before I go into the works, it is my editorial responsibility to talk about what Plinest is. Plinest is a polynucleotide: stretchy molecules made from fragments of trout which mirror human DNA. Compared to Profhilo, Plinest is more efficacious when it comes to&nbsp;treating deeper wrinkles&nbsp;and can be administered to areas&nbsp;like the eyes, lips, and forehead but my concern was pitted scarring and how thirsty my skin was as of late.

The Treatment

Before I stepped into the clinic, a PR representative casually asked me about my level of pain tolerance and despite mine being low (try having your foot tattooed for two hours with no breaks), I was not particularly worried until Doctor Yong&nbsp;asked if she could start after the customary cleansing and numbing of the face was done. Doctor Yong , bless her heart, mentioned that the treatment starts with placing a micro-cannula on the face before an injection needle is used to uniformly distribute Plinest. Said micro-cannula allows her to adjust the needle across portions of the face without having to insert it over and over again&mdash;short for &ldquo;you&rsquo;re not going to feel much pain because I&rsquo;m not continuously injecting your face&rdquo;.
&nbsp;
For those who already have skin that is in perfect or fair condition,&nbsp;good for you. Plinest is going to feel like nothing major, never mind that a nurse kindly rhythmically taps your forehead to distract you. For those who have pitted scarring, don&rsquo;t be alarmed when you hear&nbsp;and&nbsp;feel a snap on your face. That is the sound of your skin indentations being broken so that Plinest can encourage it to &ldquo;fill up&rdquo;.

The Results
&nbsp;
I was pleasantly surprised to look in the mirror and see my non-blotchy self staring back albeit with minor redness from areas where&nbsp;Doctor Yong&nbsp;had to snap. It is no wonder that Plinest is popular amongst the IDS crowd as its well-heeled crowd can go off to do their well-heeled activities (as for me, I was just going home). While it is advised to wait 4 weeks for Plinest to fully take shape, it&rsquo;s been three and I&rsquo;ve noticed three significant changes.
&nbsp;
The first is that the surface of my skin looks smoother and that the pitted scarring no longer looks as deep as the potholes that litter our island (for complete results, it&rsquo;s advised to do it at least 3 times). The second is that my skin feels slightly squishy, but firm like a dolphin&rsquo;s&mdash;I can&rsquo;t stop massaging my cheeks and watching them spring back like in a cosmetics commercial. Lastly, my skin looks much brighter like I&rsquo;ve committed several hours to exfoliating, masking, and masking&nbsp;again&nbsp;but joke&rsquo;s on me because all I had to do was have it injected.
